The EPIC DC Project consists of a small group of dedicated volunteers that develop, coordinate and execute fundraisers for charitable purpose-driven organizations in the DC area. DC Queer Welcome Wagon, an offshoot of EPIC, began organizing events within the queer community in fall of 2008. Our past events include a house party fundraiser for Basic Rights Montgomery, a DC Queer Orientation, a speed-dating event for a women's shelter in DC and a Qweer Qwiz Night that benefited SMYAL. These events have progressively drawn more publicity, participants and profit for the organizations we've supported. In planning events we follow a simple formula: entertain, promote, inspire and connect.

Promote  Promotion is central to EPIC's goal. By aligning ourselves with purpose-driven organizations and coordinating successful events we promote their mission, educate people within our community and raise funds to help them fulfill that mission. EPIC also strongly values queer owned/queer friendly businesses and seeks to create mutually beneficial partnerships.
Inspire  EPIC seeks to inspire individuals to act, even if that action is simply attending an event. Without motivated action change cannot occur. We make positive action simple by hosting fun events to benefit organizations that create real change for people within the queer community and all communities facing adversity.
